What it is for
Eating out is one of the moments when a voice is missed most: the waiter asks, everyone looks, and the person who cannot speak ends up having their dish chosen for them. This board gathers social words, ordering verbs and the most common Brazilian foods and drinks, the same ones in the falatheo app.
How to use it, in three steps
- Print, laminate and keep it in a bag or backpack; restaurants can keep a copy with the menu.
- When ordering, place the board in front of the person and let them point to the waiter, not to you.
- Model: “I want juice” pointing to the three words; afterwards ask “more?” or “all done?” while pointing too.
