1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using falatheo, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any part, do not use the service.

2. What is falatheo

falatheo is an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) system that helps people with speech difficulties express themselves through symbols and phrases. It consists of:

• the free mobile app for iOS and Android, which works offline;
• the web platform (falatheo.com.br), with portals for parents, professionals and clinics.

3. Price

The falatheo app is free, contains no ads or in-app purchases, and does not require an account. Text-to-speech uses the device's own system voices (male or female, with adjustable rate) and works offline.

3.1 Paid plans on the web platform

Families, invited teachers and the communicator app are always free. Professionals and clinics can subscribe to the Pro or Clinic plans (monthly or yearly), paid by Pix, boleto or credit card through Asaas. Card details are entered on Asaas' secure page and never pass through falatheo. No lock-in, no cancellation fee.

Cancellation and refunds. You can cancel at any time on the “Plano e cobrança” page and receive a protocol number and an e-mail confirmation.

• Within 7 days of starting a new paid subscription (monthly or yearly): cancelling gives a full refund of the amount paid, to the same payment method, and access to the plan ends immediately (art. 49 of the Brazilian Consumer Defense Code).
• After 7 days, monthly plan: renewal stops and access continues until the end of the month already paid, with no pro-rata refund.
• After 7 days, yearly plan: no refund; access continues until the end of the year already paid and renewal is turned off.

At the end of the period the account moves to the Free plan. No data is deleted and the patients' communicator app is never blocked because of billing. This rule applies to every customer, independent professionals and clinics alike.

4. Proper use

You agree to use falatheo only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. If you create an account on the web platform, you are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for activities performed on it.

5. Content and symbols

You retain rights to content you create (boards, phrases and settings). ARASAAC symbols that may be used are made available free of charge by their authors under ARASAAC's own terms, for non-commercial use with attribution.

6. Important health disclaimer

falatheo is a communication support tool; it is not a medical device and does not replace evaluation, diagnosis or therapy by speech-language pathologists, therapists or other healthcare professionals. Clinical decisions should always involve professional guidance.

7. Limitation of liability

falatheo is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect damages arising from use of the service.

8. App stores

Download through the App Store and Google Play is also subject to Apple's and Google's terms. In case of conflict regarding app distribution, the rules of the respective store prevail.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes means you agree with the current version, as indicated by the date at the top of this page.
